28.04.24 Bruxelles & 04.05.24 Vilnius, Lithuania

Body & Soul is a two-part musical exploration of spirituality and expression, presented in two distinctive concert settings.
The first concert, held in Brussels, features Lassenne Vocale in a mostly a cappella program that moves from the contemplative depth of Gustav Holst’s The Evening Watch and Charles Villiers Stanford’s Beati quorum via to the modern, introspective works of Ivan Yohan, including Agnus Dei, inspired by Balinese chant, and the lyrical Après un rêve. The program concludes with Steve Dobrogosz’s Mass (in its version with piano accompaniment), performed in collaboration with pianist Andrés Soler Castaño, offering a rich and expansive finale.
The second concert, presented in Vilnius, Lithuania, brings Lassenne Vocale together with the Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Ivan Yohan, with pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė. The orchestra’s artistic director, Modestas Jankūnas, also supports the collaboration. This performance of Dobrogosz’s Mass—in its full orchestral version—reveals the work’s lyrical depth and contemporary warmth across six radiant movements.
Together, these concerts highlight the versatile artistry of Lassenne Vocale across contrasting musical landscapes and international collaborations—truly a meeting of body and soul.
