Stage provisions
Unamplified category: Parketzaal 1
The large parquet hall of the CCHA is a beautiful space for acoustic performances. The hall itself has no stage, but for this occasion, a stage will be constructed. It accommodates about 350 audience members.
Warm-up and acoustic test/soundcheck
- Each choir will be assigned a time slot to test the stage during an acoustic rehearsal. This lasts a maximum of 15 minutes for the unamplified category and 20 minutes for the amplified category (including setup).
- No audience or jury will be present during the acoustic test.
- Both before your acoustic test and before your performance, you will have about 30 minutes in a room where you can warm up, rehearse, or change clothes.
- Please strictly observe the schedule; the timing is tight.
Jurying
A panel of jurors will assess each competition performance.
- A total score out of 60 points will be given.
- The highest scores in each category win 1st and 2nd prize.
AWARD CEREMONY AND RECEPTION
Award ceremony and winner’s performance
- Each competition day ends with an award ceremony.
- During the ceremony, the winners of that day’s competition will be announced.
- 1st and 2nd prizes are awarded per category.
- Winners of the 1st prize will be asked to repeat one piece from their competition program on stage for the audience.
o Therefore, it is important that all choirs remain present until the award ceremony.
o Preferably choose an a cappella piece or one with only piano accompaniment, as there will be no time to set up instruments. Another arrangement can be discussed if necessary.
Reception and feedback
- After the award ceremony, a delegation of 6 people from each choir is invited to a festive reception.
- During the reception, each choir will have the opportunity to receive personal feedback from (part of) the jury.
- The jury will at least invite the conductor, but the conductor may bring up to 5 choir members to the feedback session.
- No later than one month after the competition, each choir will receive written feedback by email about their performance.
