Eternal Echoes

Renaissance Meets Modernity

26.04.25 Pommerœul & 27.04.25 Bruxelles

Eternal Echoes – Renaissance Meets Modernity presents a compelling journey through time, where the sacred beauty of Renaissance masterpieces meets the expressive depth of contemporary composition.

This thoughtfully curated program was performed in two remarkable settings: the first concert in Brussels, and the second as part of the debut of the Festival Des Hautchamps in Pommerœul.

The program opens with Tomás Luis de Victoria’s sublime Ave Maria for eight voices, paired with a modern Ave Mariaby Michał Ziółkowski. The dialogue continues with Giovanni Gabrieli’s grand O magnum mysterium alongside Richard Burchard’s contemporary setting of the same text.

Also featured is Lorenzo Donati’s Leonardo’s Sentences, a meditation inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s reflections on knowledge and perception. The program closes with two evocative works on the theme of sleep: Robert Ramsey’s Sleep, fleshly birth and Daniel Brinsmead’s Come Sleep, blending Renaissance and modern sensibilities into a contemplative finale.
